Auto Show-Quest Center
Kyle spent the morning/early afternoon with Jantsen and Kambryn at the auto show. You wouldn't think it would be that enjoyable, but the three of them had a blast! There was also a dinosaur challenge blow-up display thing. (So you could say that is what made it so enjoyable, but we can pretend the kids were just as interested in the cars too.) Jantsen and Kambyrn LOVE going places with the dad! They don't get to see him alot during the week, so Saturdays come and it is "Daddy-Kid Day"!
They looked at cars, rock climbed, jumped through obstacle courses, ate a pop corn and chicken tenders lunch, bought and patiently waited for their own balloon animals to be made, only to have Kambryn popped hers in record time of 9.2 seconds. And after 15 minutes of debating between the spider and the sword, Jantsen changed his mind in .2 seconds (AFTER he got the spider he had asked for) that he wanted the sword instead. He told Kyle to pop the spider right there, which then caused Kyle to want to grab it out of Jantsen's hand and give it to the next kid who walked by. Oh if I could have been the balloon maker at that moment. The joys of parenting right... single parenting for that matter!
(and while Kyle was gone I decided to paint my bathroom. Yes, it was a very out of the blue and random thing to do with my free time! But I am SO glad I did. It turned out great!) Thanks babe for the much needed break, oh and being patient with the chaos I created upstairs with my spur-of-the-moment projects!
They had little ice skates for Jantsen to wear too! He wasn't sure at first exactly what we were doing, so the first couple times around the rink, he fell alot and hard!
But then we discovered this intelligent device! What a great idea to help young kids learn to skate! It was wonderful. I was so proud of him. He even learned the motion of skating and not just walking on the ice.
Kambryn even was able to get in on the fun and skate with dad!
The kids ate some snacks while Kyle and I raced around the rink. I was pretty nervous at first. I hadn't been ice skating, or even roller blading for years. But surprisingly enough, it was pretty easy. I am no figure skater by no means, but I was doing a few spins by the end of night. Not bragging, just excited! But my man Kyle...he knows what he is doing out on the rink! He could be a pretty good ice hockey player (if he had time for hobbies). But I guess he will just have to be content with family night ice skating!
And of course, what is being at the ice skating rink and not watching the Zamboni?!
These were just the highlights of our fun packed Saturday!

Did they have those little walker things that Jansten was using for big people? I would need that if I went skating.

Gosh, you are just too fun a family for me. You are always doing lots of fun things. Those kid helper ice skating things are rad! Love the story about the spider and the sword, isn't that just any child? They always want what they don't have. But don't we all? You are an awesome parent Janel! We miss you already!
