Just another Post

Well we are still alive here in Omaha. The lack of posts have been because I have been sick for the past 2 weeks and it was just no fun. I thought that the rest of the family had escaped the sickness but unfortunately Kambryn seems to be getting sick now. I hate sick kids...needy, whiny, runny nose, and everything, it is just sad! I feel bad for her.

Not much has been going on here in Omaha. We have had some good weather days where the kids and I were able to spend some time outside riding our bikes or playing at the park. And then Friday we were "blessed" (I guess we should call it that) with about 6 inches of snow. It is funny how Omaha can just sneak some more winter in there at a moments notice. But with the snow we also had some fun times sledding and throwing snowballs and playing in the snow. We also had a morning with a nice lightening thunder storm. Near the end of the storm, it started hailing. Jantsen and Kambryn were LOVING watching the rain and hearing the thunder. Jantsen was doing the weather play-by-play for Kambryn, so when it started raining, in his most intelligent voice he said "Kambryn look, that isn't water rain anymore, those are Rain Balls!" It was pretty funny. But with this crazy storm, it reminded me that we live in the mid-west and the exciting (scary) weather we have here in the spring. We are going to be getting use to the tornado sirens going off each night again. So within this last week we experienced almost all the seasons. I am just hoping that we can make up our mind and stick to just one season for at least a few months. But with all this crazy weather we have had fun together as a family.

The kids playing at the zoo. One of my favorite times to be at the zoo is from 3-5pm on cold day. The zoo is EMPTY and it is so relaxing for me and the kids! I absolutely love it! (it helps a lot that most of the zoo exhibits are all inside. I love the Omaha Zoo!!

If you ask Jantsen what he wants to be when he grows up....

He will say "Race Car Driver!" I think my son is turning into a white-trash, redneck NASCAR-lover! (not that there is anything wrong with NASCAR...) But He LOVES It and he loves anything to do with racing and race cars and race tracks...everything!!!

His favorite racer is Kyle Busch (#18 and drives the M&M car) If we are out at a restaurant or flipping channels and he sees anything to do with race cars, he is immediately GLUED to it! I blame all of his obsession to Grandma Nana (kyle's mom) and my squashed dreams of him being a doctor! It is so fun and exciting to see how much he LOVES watching it! He loves when they crash, when they pit, when they pass each other...he loves it all!! (and really I love watching him love it too!!) So anyways, one night we found this family fun center place called Thunder Alley and, low-and-behold, they had go-karts! A pretty long and fun track too! Of course we had to do it. We had a good time racing and also watching the cars. We just can't get enough racing this week! Even our trip to the Children's Museum involved race cars and speed! Good times for Jantsen. Now our next plan is to take him to an actual NASCAR race. I hear they have one in Kansas City. We are turning into racing junkies!

That bites that you have been sick! I was wondering what was going on with the lack of posts. I forgot about the fact that I am coming during tornado season! This could be interesting!

sorry, you've been sick, hope you are feeling better and that the kids get over it quickly too. We've been sick at our house too.. started with Adam's bronchitis and then when we thought he was over that he's continued with a sad cough along with Parker and Abby, hopefully it doesn't turn into something else. I have a headache (which I rarely get) and a cough as well. being sick is NO FUN! Crazy weather in Omaha, I bet you are excited for spring! I sure am! have fun

I loved your post about meeting that man running around the track. The janitor?? I think.

YOu are such a sweet person and I love reading your posts and staying up-to-date on your little family.

You guys have been busy with lots of wild weather and what fun things you do in that type of weather! It definitely reminds me of Omaha and what I do not miss about it.:) Bryce is a fan of NASCAR too so I guess not all the fans are redneck, right?
