Here we are...

...right back at the daily stuff. I had a great trip to Italy and France but I was sure excited to get back to my family and kids...but I guess not that excited to get back into the daily routine.
Well I got back last Wednesday in the morning and got to hang out for a few hours with Kristen and Eme before they had to take off back to Utah.
**Sad thing...when we dropped them off at the airport, Kambryn just started bawling!! She cried when they got out of the car and she cried all the way home and even for awhile after we got in the house. I think she really started getting attached to Kristen and Eme!**
Well now back to being a mom.

Thursday: Trip to the doctor's office...for the dreaded SHOTS!!!

"We love the Doctor..."

"Look how big we are getting"

Kambryn 2 year stats:
wt: 28 lbs (71%)
ht: 36 in. (97%) ...WHAT?!!

Jantsen Kindergarten check-up:
wt: 39 lbs (49%)
ht: 43 in. (65%)

"We love you Mom and all these fun pictures you are taking of us!"

....

"Why did we have to get shots?!!"

"I don't like the doctor anymore"

"Get that camera out of my face mom!!"

Next time we are at the doctor's and we have to get shots, I think that it will be better if I don't do them at the same time. I did get kindof a little laugh at myself at trying to console two crying kids. So I did what exactly what "today's-Mom"do, pull out a camera and take some pictures. Nothing was soothing them so why not capture the moment! ha.

Actually it was really sad to see Jantsen get his shots. He did not like it and it almost made me start crying because I had to be the one to hold him down so they could inflict the pain on him. I love that tough kid. Poor Kambryn had to watch Jantsen go through it so she was already throwing a fit before we even got to her. I love my feisty little girl!

They were finally happy as we were getting in the car, only after getting a few stickers on the way out. I don't know what it is, but stickers at the doctor's office usually is the magic trick that makes all the tears go away.

Friday: Invite a Friend to School Day.

My idea of invite a friend day...

Jantsen would be sooo excited for his little sister to come and Kambryn would just love to be around her big brother and see his school. They would eat a snack together, they would laugh, Jantsen would be so excited to share books, art projects, toys, activities, everything with Kambryn and want her to try everything WITH him and of course Kambryn would be so excited to be with her BIG BROTHER that she would do everything along side him. There would be lots of smiles and laughing and fun picture moments and all the other "friends" at school would say "Oh look how cute they are together. That brother and sister must just love each other" That would have been a proud mom moment.....I was hoping this was going to be a "cute, show-off-your-sister kindof a day" for the both of them.

But of course, it was NOT at all how I hoped it would go!!

Don't let this picture fool you. This is right before Kambryn decided that instead of blowing through the straw in the the dish soap and water to make more bubbles, she would DRINK the water....just great. Totally against Jantsen's rules for how things are run at preschool.

Jantsen had about a 2.9 second time limit for Kambryn to try anything...Of course my stubborn Kambryn doesn't like to bossed around and so they were both fighting over the toothbrush and soap to scrub the "germy frog".

Jantsen spent most of the time doing all the activities and fun things by himself, which he was MoRe than happy to do. He kindof likes to be the know-it-all independent child sometimes. He likes things his way and thinks that is the only way it should be done! So why have a little sister come and ruin the perfect routine right..??

Kambryn spent most of her time here....

...and pushing this around...

I think the girls in Jantsen's class were getting alittle annoyed that they couldn't show play with the doll and stroller and house area. Kambryn was in total take-over mode. One time she had all three dolls and all the blankets in the stroller. (Jantsen also let me know that she was pushing the stroller in the no toy zone of the classroom...breaking the rules and routine again.)

The day ended with a FORCED smile from both kids. We are a loving family!!

Saturday: Jantsen had his 2nd soccer game of the season.

Jantsen played AWESOME and scored a goal. His team won! (who says you can't keep score with 4 year olds??? Heck yeah we do!!) no really I am not that competitive. But he was just happy to score a goal. Unfortunately I was asked to coach the team this week and so I didn't get to play the camera happy, capture every action shot- mom part that day.
But I LOVE that Jantsen loves to play soccer. He had a few meltdowns (I think because I was paying attention to the other kids on the team and he felt neglected so he decided to throw a fit.) But after that was all done, he had a great time. And I really enjoyed coaching his team. Good Job Jantsen! I am so proud of you!

Go Sharks!!!!

(oh and don't mind the soccer attire...it was stinking cold that day!)

The rest of this last week has been spent getting Kyle and Kambryn over sicknesses, doing LOADS and LOADS of laundry (I pretty much just empty all my Europe bags into the laundry basket), trying to spend some fun family time together, and also the same old school, work, training routine that we do.
I am so glad to be back home with my family! I had a great time but missed my cute Kyle and kiddos! Well hopefully soon I will be able to get some pictures up on here. I have about 900 pictures to go through. It was amazing!!

Oh my gosh..I hate the doctor visits when they get shots! I just took Parker to get his ear checked the other day and he freaked his freak. They didn't even give him shots...not looking forward to it!! You are super mom...taking both of them in at the same time to get shots!
