We paid a dollar for the kids to get a stick with bird seed on them so we could feed the birds. We spent about 45 minutes just chasing these little birds all over their enclosure place. It was pretty funny. Jantsen was loving it the whole time but the first time a bird flew off when Kambryn got close to it, freaked her out. But once Kyle helped her a little she actually liked it.
After the Budgies, we let our zoo guide (Jantsen) take us all around the zoo. Each day, his kindergarten class gets to take a "safari" walk around the zoo so he learns all these neat little facts and cool information on all the animals. He comes home and sometimes shares what he learns...that is if I can get it out of him. But lately he has been giving me the update on the baby gorilla. So we went to see him. So stinking cute!! It is just like a little baby human, wearing a diaper, drinking from a bottle, being held and rocked. What a cute little guy.
He is in the background on the zoo keepers lap asleep. CUTE little guy!
The rest of the time was spent following Jantsen around the zoo while he told us the names of the animals. One of his favorite places are to see the cats. His favorite is Mr. Big (the big African Lion) with the other lions (Nala and other names he can't remember). While walking around, a mountain lion started stalking Kambryn. It was behind glass but he crouched down, stared at her and stalked her while she walked back and forth in front of his window. It was funny to watch. I can't imagine seeing one of those out in the open. Freaky!!
Well one of our other stops were to see the bears. Kambryn told me she wanted to go swimming with the 2 big black bears. They were playing and drinking in their waterfall and I guess it looked like fun to her. Until I told her no and that they would eat her if she went in there. The look on her face after I said that was pretty funny. Cured that desire pretty quick! We also saw the Sunbears (little black bears that climb all over the trees) also known as "Cupcake" and "Ho Ho". Too cute!!
Either Cupcake or Ho Ho behind them in the tree. He was facing us but because I only have my phone for a camera, it didn't take fast enough.
Well the trip wasn't complete without a ride on the carousel. I make Kyle ride it because being prego and going around in a circle a bazillion times makes me sick just thinking about it. What a great hubby!
We had fast Sunday because of General Conference this week. So with fast Sunday we had testimony meeting. First of all I want to warn, I am already an emotional person. Thank my mom for that one. But add being pregnant onto those emotions, I am just a wreck when it comes to anything at all now. Well so during the middle of testimony meeting I leaned down and asked Jantsen if he wanted to bear his testimony. He said Yes, so of course I said okay go tell Daddy you want to. Well up they go, walking down the isle, and there I went bawling already. Haha. Yes I started crying as my little 5 year old walked up to bear his testimony with his dad. Then once I heard his cute little voice over the pulpit say "I like to bear my testimony..." it was down hill from there. I am so grateful for the gospel and the sweet spirit that can touch my heart so easily if I just allow it. Seeing my little Jantsen bear his testimony definitely is in the top 5 moments I have had the privilege of having while being a mom!! Hearing my sweet husbands testimony was definitely a plus for the day too!
Well the rest of the week wasn't too exciting until Wednesday. Kambryn got pink eye, an ear infection and a cold. Lovely. So after a trip to the pediatrician, running all around town to get her prescription (that was an adventure) and forcing her to let me put in eye drops and for her to swallow gross thick antibiotics, Wednesday came to an end. Now she is on medicine for the next 10 days. But luckily this year it only affected Kambryn and didn't spread to the rest of the family, unlike 2 years ago when we got it.
Now we are just hanging out in the cold fall weather. It has turned cold pretty quick here, but luckily no snow yet. Just rain and wind and cold. I am hoping the snow holds off until after Halloween. But I do love Fall and Autumn and all the fun stuff that goes along with this wonderful season! Colors, smells, food, clothes, weather, fun activities...love it all!!!
Here is a little dance from my pink-eyed beauty. (please don't mind the shirtless dancer...we were getting ready for bed. She is looking at herself in my mirror on my dresser and she just started dancing away and saying "Shake your body". I thought it was cute and hilarious, Kyle thinks she looks white trash. I promise usually my kids are fully clothed.)

Highly amusing post. :) thanks. Sounds like you had quite the week!! Sorry for the sickness but glad you had fun at the zoo (I've heard great things about the Omaha zoo). :)
What was it like exactly when she had pink eye? Jaxson caught a cold last week and ever since his eyes are goopy and gross daily and yesterday morning his eyes were sealed shut when he woke up. The weird thing is the whites of his eyes are not pink/red just the rims. I am also worried he is developing an ear infection from that cold he has had. Gotta love winter time!
HAHAHA he dancing is SO funny!!! Ha that made me laugh so hard. And yeah a little weird without a shirt, but you gotta catch it when she is doing it first. I understand ha lol ;) and let's just talk about KB's crazy face in the picture with ho-ho or cupcake in the background!! HA I LOVED IT!!! It looks like you guys are doing great!! Love you all and miss you LOTS!!!!
