A successful spring day

This is what Omaha looked like March 3rd. We still had piles and piles of snow! I could have sworn we were going to have snow until June! Playing at the park and doing spring things in the near future were totally out of the question!

Well a little rain, some sunshine and temperatures above freezing were all it took to melt it away! I really cannot believe that it is all gone!! Yay!
And if someone would have told me that we would be flying our kites on March 23rd, I would have told them they were NUTS! but here we are...flying our kites and NO snow on March 23rd!

It was great! Actually I take that back. The thought of kite flying was great! We were all excited. Until we got out there, the wind died and my kids were bored pretty quick. Kambryn was bored because I spent most time teaching Jantsen how to fly a kite. (which turned up with him just running around with the string in hand, and me praying that the wind would occasionally catch the kite and take it up in the air) and then when Jants got the hang of it, Kambryn was too tired from trying to chase Jantsen's kite. So it ended up with me flying Kambryn's kite, Jantsen walking around dragging the tail of his kite, and Kambryn sitting on top of some power box. Oh and Talan slept the whole time! At least we got out of the house and there is no snow! All in all, I call it a successful Spring Day!

Haha. This post made me giggle. I can see Jants running around trying with all his might to get that kite to fly!

Glad the snow is finally melting away for you guys. It has been snowing here and it is quite depressing! not much be enough to not play outside.
