Trip to Utah

Well we went to Utah for Kyle's last spring break...hopefully ever! We hadn't been back to Utah since the end of July last year and so a vacation was much needed! I think our kids were going crazy with not seeing all our family for that long! So we rented a minivan, packed it up and drove through the night to hang out with family and friends for about 10 days. Of course the main reason we were going was to bless Talan. We stayed really busy and we had a fabulous vacation!!

We had quite the adventure on the way out. We wanted to leave a few hours earlier than originally planned because there was a snow storm coming across Wyoming and we didn't want to be caught in that! So we left around 1:00pm and making great time, for those 20 minutes we had driven. We ended up stopping because we had to buy a new car DVD player (which took WAY too long) and so that slowed us up about 1.5 hours (yeah Way Too Long!) So then we started cruising, the DVD player was a life saver. Kambryn fell asleep pretty quick, Jantsen was content with just watching videos, and well Talan, he isn't a fan of his car seat for longer than 10 minutes. but he did eventually fall asleep. As you can tell, I was really happy when that happened!!

We unfortunately hit the snow storm...in Rock Springs. And it was a big storm too. My wonderful but poor husband had to drive 40 mph in the snow storm for 6 straight hours!!! Midnight until 6:00am SNOW the entire way!! We should have arrived in Orem around 3:00...it was awful but we made it!

We spent Friday just hanging around the house and resting and getting settled at my parent's house.

Saturday we celebrated Pa's bday and got together with family we haven't seen in forever! It was great to see everyone.

Jantsen and Kambryn had a blast playing with their cousins.

Sunday we blessed Talan at my parents house.

More about that day on another post. But it was a great day, Kyle did a wonderful job. This little guy is one of the greatest joys in my life! Love him!

(Instead of making another post I am just going to add to this one) We had such a wonderful Sunday at my parents house for his blessing. What a wonderful spirit that was there.  We love our little Talan...T-Man! I took so many pictures but there are just too many to choose from. So I am just going to keep only this one on.  We were just so thankful for all the support and love! What a wonderful day!

Monday we went to Kangaroo Zoo with James and Cami and their kiddos. I think we need to have a rule that Jantsen and Parker can't go more than 2 months without seeing eachother. They are the best of friends!! I was also so happy that they let Kambryn follow them around. It was cute to see the 3 of them play so well together. Then you add Adam and Abby into the mix and it is just a whole lot of fun!

The kids had a blast at Kangaroo Zoo...but what else is to be expected! That place is "kid heaven"!

Tuesday we spent at the soccer field. Go Bruins! My dad's high school soccer team had their first game and with Jantsen being really excited for his soccer season to start, we wanted to go and watch!

Wednesday we attempted the hard task of taking pictures of all the grandkids on Kyle's side. There are only 6 kids, but with ages 5, two 2 year olds, a 8 month old and 2 new borns, it got alittle tough. Kara you are amazing though and got a couple way cute shots!  I also had her take some 3 year old pictures of Kambryn. (more of those pictures on another post)

After a LONG long long morning of picture taking, we all went over to the Lehi Rec Center and went swimming! What a fabulous and fun pool! We will definitely be going back! Loved it! (unfortunately I didn't take any pictures) But we all had fun going down the waterslides and playing in the water! Oh the water was so nice and warm! This day totally wore out my kids so we all went back to the Graham's for a nice nap.

Thursday we got together with my friend from college and her family! I absolutely love and adore this girl. It had been too long since I have seen her and it was so fun to catch up! Hopefully they will come out to Omaha for law school...hint hint Hollie!!

We spent the night up at Kyle's mom house and also spent a lot of time with her on Friday. Talan and I met my highschool buddies at Guru's for lunch while Kyle Kambryn and Jantsen hung out with his mom and sister Kara and Lydia. Later that day we went down to another soccer game. The alumni mountain view team was playing. So James and Curt played against my dad's team. It would have been cool to have Dustin there, but next year! Good times at soccer games!

Who doesn't love bathing a baby!? Talan loved his bath in the sink from Grandma Nana.

Friday night Kristen and Eme slept over and the cousin were able to have a sleep over in the theater room.

Surprisingly they all fell asleep and slept the whole night in there! I snapped a picture early in the morning of them all sleeping. It was hilarious to see Eme half on and half off the air matress. So cute!

Saturday we spent the morning hanging out at Evelyn's, taking more pictures, opening presents for Kambryn's birthday, and playing the Wii.

We went back over to my parent's house to say goodbye and finish packing up and then took off back to Omaha that afternoon. It was a much better drive on the way home. We had stake conference on Sunday so we missed church, but we all needed some nice rest and try to get back into the our normal schedule.

Sorry about the super long post. I have some videos to try and upload but in this new format, I am not sure how to do that. But we had a great vacation, it was good to get back home, but we miss our family already!
