Creighton MBA and JD Graduate!!!

The time finally came for Kyle to graduate! Yay! It was a busy week, and since I am writing this all down about 2 months after it happened, I really can't remember everything. But just for journal purposes and for Kyle to know how IMPORTANT he is and how PROUD we are of him, I wanted to make sure and record this important event.

Thursday he had his hooding ceremony for hi MBA. It was just the kids and I that went to the hooding and I was glad that it was just us. It was a good ending to how the last 3 years were for us.  Just our little family of 5, relying on each other, 1000 miles away from our family.  I guess it showed what we did as a family, just as us, that we went through a lot, but we did it together! Anyways, so MBA ceremony was Thursday.
The kids were SO excited to see Kyle come down into the auditorium in his cap and gown. Jantsen and Kambryn kept calling out "Daddy" and waving to him. It was cute. My favorite part was watching Kyle's face light up when he saw us and when he waved to them and gave them high-fives.  I just love my family!
 We love our Daddy!

Following in Dad's footsteps??... 2030 MBA graduate??

Friday we went to Kyle's Law school hooding. This was a big deal and an important ceremony.  (For those who have never been to a hooding or were like me, thought that it was like some sort of KKK thing, it isn't. haha. Hooding = law professor putting a long scarf thing on each student. Only graduate students have hooding ceremonies)

So excited that the day is finally here!
Go Blue Jays! Go Law School! Go Kyle!
Having a good time during the hooding ceremony!
Thanks so much for the support from our visitors!

Anyways, so we were so happy to have visitors come out to support Kyle.  My dad and brother James came out Thursday night, and then Kyle's dad and Claudia got into town on Friday afternoon.  We left Kambryn and Jantsen with some great friends...thanks Starks! and headed downtown to the Civic Auditorium.  It was a really fun and late night, and even better...Talan pooped out and so was in his diaper for most of the evening. (so white trash...but we were close to Council Bluffs so it worked! ha)
Officially Hooded!
Love this picture! So cute in his cap and gown...what a good daddy!

The after-ceremony party! I got a little emotional and sentimental saying congrats to some of our good friends and Kyle's classmates that we had the privilege to get to know over the past 3 years. Such great friends and people! We loved Omaha!

Saturday was the big commencement day.  It started at 9:30am.  Jantsen had a soccer game at the same time and so we decided that everyone, except Kyle of course, would go to the soccer game and then head straight over to the commencement ceremony.  Which turned out to be the best idea ever.  We walked into the Quest Center around 11:00am and had to watch about 10 minutes of the talking and then it was diploma time for Kyle. It was great! Made it so easy with the kids! We were at the graduation for maybe 45 minutes. Fabulous!!

Well I am SO proud of Kyle. What a great accomplishment for you babe! 3 years ago, when we decided to go to law school, I never dreamed that our experience out in Omaha was going to be as wonderful as it was! I loved every minute of it.  1st semester winter finals and the flu, tornado warnings, creepy neighbor trying to break down our door, watching the kids grow up, our first Christmas as a family, our little 2 bedroom townhouse and I will still say we were "busting at the seams" but we loved it! Talan's birth, Kambyrn's pneumonia, zoo kindergarten, Creighton soccer games, lunch at Chick-fil-a! (thank you Mutual of Omaha), concerts, So many fun memories that I am so grateful we were able to experience together and as a family.

(side note, Friday and Saturday night we were nice and cozy in our house with having 9 people staying with us.  We had Rick and Claudia on the air mattress in the living room, my dad and James took the kid's bunk beds, and then we put Kam and Jants on the floor in our room, as well as having Talan's pack and play. Then you add luggage and everything... it was fun!

We were actually really comfortable in there. We all slept great!

Walking around Omaha with Grandpa and Uncle James

(petting the police horse on the pedestrian bridge. How cool is that)

Thanks again everyone that came to visit! I loved it and appreciated it so much! I know it meant so much to Kyle to have you guys there too! Thanks also to all our family that wanted to be there but couldn't but supported us so much through out these 3 years!

I'm not going to lie....I got a little teary when I read all of the stuff you remember about Omaha. When I read Zoo Kindergarten. :( We miss you. I don't think Kael quite understands that you are really gone. It's going to be rough when school starts. Hope everything is going good in Utah! We miss you!
