Well to be honest, I don't think that these last 6 months can ever be topped in our lives. Whether it was trips to the ER for broken bones, moving adventures and Penske trucks breaking down, Kyle traveling A LOT, someone attempting to break into our home (with Kyle gone and it only being the kids and I), visitors and lots of fun activities, baseball games, a stranger crashing into our parked Audi outside our home, our neighbor actually breaking into our home and robbing us but then Kyle waking up to him in our bedroom holding my jewelry box (he is in jail now so don't worry), holidays, sicknesses and spider bites, unexpected pregnancy and sickness, trip to Utah and visiting family....seriously I really could just keep going on!!!
Through all this Kyle and I had to change our perspective to instead of "Why us?" and "What is going to happen next?" and "Trial after Trial" to "We need to think of it as a blessing."and "Count our blessings." But through all of our craziness and "exciting" events, we have had some great times too.
Here are some pictures of the last month...in random order because I really can't remember all the time lines of everything.
James and Cami and their kids, and Dustin and Jen came out to Kansas City for a weekend in June (the weekend after Kristen and Jeremy left...right after we dealt with all 3 kids having Hand, Foot and Mouth too).
*Eating at Red Robin* They had THE best balloon guy there I have ever seen!
*Twinners*
Jantsen and Parker planned by themselves to wear the same color shirt.
Cami and I bought these dresses for the girls and the both saw them and wanted to wear them right then.
*Cousin picture while walking around the County Plaza in KC*
*eating at Fritz at the Crown Center Plaza*
*Hanging around the house enjoying the nice Kansas City weather*
*catching fireflies*
*Saturday morning we were all at the house getting ready to head to all the church history sites of KC when my brother James yells out "Holy Cow Kyle, someone just ran into your Audi." And this is what I saw when I looked out of the window! The front of our Audi was parked on the side of the street, where the back end of the white car is in this picture. She plowed through our car! Wow!
Luckily all the kids were still inside in their PJ's and we were all safe. The lady in the white car was pretty banged up and had a bad head wound. It was a crazy morning to say the least.
Jantsen was concerned mainly about our mailbox, which fortunately was unharmed (just got uprooted and flew about 25 yards from where it should be). At least that was safe....according to Jantsen.
But the Audi is totaled so now to the process of finding another car...unfortunately we just paid it off in January. Dealing with insurance companies is such a hassle!! Hopefully we won't have to have another car payment!?
*Day at the Farmstead in Overland Park*
*All 4 kids got to feed the goats with these baby bottles full of milk... They all loved it (for a minute or so at least)*
I seriously love this place. It is free, there is so much to do, unfortunately it is about a 40 minute drive though. But to me, it is well worth it. And then kids love it each time we go too!!
Talan also got pink eye and was cutting his top 2 molars during this week too. He ended up passing his pink eye to Adam who then passed it to Aunt Jen. Adding sickness onto a crazy week...icing on the cake I tell you!
*Jantsen finished his first season of baseball (coach pitch/t-ball) He LOVED it!!!
Jantsen spent a week in Wichita with Cami and James and Jen and Dustin. It was a nice break so I could pack for our long stay in Utah for July. But Talan sure missed Jantsen!
*all packed up for a month stay in Utah*
We stopped and spent the night in Wichita to pick up Jantsen when we were headed to Utah. We went all the way to Grand Junction on Saturday and then Sunday we only had a 4 hour drive to Orem. I really don't like long drives but I am glad that the kids did so well!! Even considering Talan's lack of wanting to take a nap! Going through Colorado is a much better drive then boring Wyoming! I have missed the mountains!
*I love having the third row in our car*
More room= less fighting and touching each other of kids= Happy pregnant mom
We made it to Utah July 3rd. Just in time for us to wake up early the next morning for the Freedom Festival Parade in Provo.
I gave Kyle a break and told him to sleep in with Talan and that my mom, Curt, Jantsen, Kambyrn and I would go early (5:45am) and save a spot for us all at the parade. It is a win win for us. Kyle doesn't like parades that much, I love them, he humored me and came, and we got a good spot. It was a lot of fun. (more pictures to come on a different post)
The only bad thing is that Kambryn got bit by a spider the day before and so woke up with a high fever...apparently it wasn't just a normal little spider bite, or else she was way allergic to it. It was a rough couple of days for her trying to fight off the poison in her.
Kyle had to fly back to KC on Wednesday. Turns out Thursday night, our apparently "friendly" next door neighbors decided they weren't that friendly and broke into our house at 1:30am....While Kyle was there! Long story...but they thought we were all gone for 6 weeks, kicked in our basement window, stole some DVD's, went into the master bedroom where Kyle was ASLEEP (with the lamp and the TV on...so yes he had to have known Kyle was there) and took some things, came back into the room to take my jewelry box and Kyle woke up. So all in all...the guy is in jail, his wife is being charged too, and we have retarded neighbors. The detectives recovered all our stuff so that is good. We really have a great neighborhood, but just unlucky to have them as neighbors.
So now we are into the middle of July already. I can't believe it. The kids and I have been busy with summer fun. Jantsen made a list of about 40 things he wants to do this summer, so it has been nice to just go to the list and ask the kids what they want to do that day. Kam and Jants start swim lessons next week, Jantsen's 7th birthday is coming up, we are going camping with Kyle's dad and family, as well as other fun daily summer things. We miss Kyle ("Da-ye" as Talan says) and I am just looking forward to October when another little BOY will join our family!!
Yes we are having another boy...due the end of October but I am hoping by the 13th or so he will be here. I am measuring about 3 weeks ahead, I just hope that doesn't mean that he is going to be 10lbs.
Well anyways, this already has taken forever to just post this much. I hope to get the 4th of July pictures up later today or most likely tomorrow.
Happy JULY!

Oh my Gosh Janel!!! My heart goes out to you! I feel so bad for your family. I've heard all of these updates through Rick and Claudia and have been worried about you guys. I love reading you blog and hearing about your positive attitude. We too have been struggling and I could use an attitude adjustment myself.
