Jantsen vs. Bike and Asphalt....1 point for the asphalt!!

Jantsen has loved riding his new "Big Boy Bike" and is so cute on it! He gets on and speeds away at any chance he can get. Kyle and I have started to enforce that he wear a helmet while riding his bike. Mainly because my boy is alittle daredevil and loved to ride "his fastest" over the "bump-bumps" (a.k.a. speed bumps). This video was the first day he had his bike so he is still alittle uneasy about how it really works, but now he is a speedster!

Today, Jantsen was outside getting on his bike and at the last second Kyle went out and got his helmet on. Thank you Kyle for being the responsible parent!! I am glad that he wore his helmet because today he had his first crash... and I am sure not his last.
Anyways, I didn't see it happen. My friend Bonnie was so sweet to bring him back home. She said she heard crying coming from down the fire lane and went over and saw Jantsen laying on the ground with his bike on him. How sad huh. Good thing I have good friends that take care of my kids for me! Thanks again Bonnie!

The story I got out of Jantsen was that he was going down the fire lane (I am sure he was racing Dylan and so he was going fast) but he turned the corner, and fell over and his bike fell on him. (Kindof makes me laugh alittle just trying to imagine this whole thing taking place.)

He has a pretty good road rash on his right arm as well as a nice scrap on his wrist. There was also a weird bruise that was starting to show up down by his wrist. I have to keep my eye on that because it kindof looks a little different. He is moving his arm, but you can tell that it hurts him though. Lets just hope that it is just a bump and he will be back to new tomorrow morning.

We have to fix his training wheels on his bike so that they both touch when he is riding instead of wobbling back and forth. I am sure that he will be right back on his bike and loving the "bump-bumps" and taking another spill in a few days. He is definitely a tough boy! Just maybe next time he will be alittle more cautious when he turns a corner!

The mention of giving him a sucker if he let me look at his arm grabbed his attention and calmed him down for a second. But the moment he got the sucker, he was back into not being very happy. I am not sure if it was his crash and scrapes that were bugging him or else his mom with the camera in his face during his time of need that bugged him more!

Poor boy. I hope he feels better. To my surprise, I have had only 3 broken arms at my house and 2 belong to the same boy. Those crazy boys!

Ohh, that's sad. That's the price you pay for being a big kid, I guess. Love that you took pictures of his misery.

Darn asphalt! So, Nate has been in the Air Force since BYU. He was in ROTC when I met him, and I had a VERY hard time with it...almost didn't marry him because of it. But I am getting used to it and seeing how great it is...especially not paying tuition and getting that stipend every month! I know the hard stuff is ahead, but we feel it's right for us. So will you owe 3 years?

Oh no! I guess it was bound to happen. I remember all the spills I took on my bike and I wasn't even very daring! Give him a hug for me! Also, I have been trying to get a hold of you! Call me when you get the chance!

I feel so bad.. I always get nervous when Shaylee and Dylan race down that hill. I usually ask him not to. I haven't seen Dylan and Jantsen venture down there before (unless I am down there) so I thought they would stay by our house. When I asked Dylan who brought him home he said "Barney" I was wondering if there was a guy named barney around here or something. Now I now who it was lol.

Sad!! I hope he is feeling better and isn't afraid to get back on his bike! Only a mom who blogs would be taking pictures of her little one after they just took a spill.:)

This is so funny that we pick moments like these for great blogging photos! Poor kids growing up in this blogging age. I will definitely be at the alumni game. When are you getting there? We should plan something for Friday night. Can't wait to see ya!
