One graduation down, one more to come (in 2 years)

Today was Jantsen's graduation from Christ Child Preschool. I have mixed feelings about it. Of course seeing your kid growing up and becoming a big boy is just so much fun and going to the long-awaited and anticipated "graduation" as a parent is pretty exciting, but I am now bummed that Jantsen doesn't have school to go to 3 days out of the week! Not because it gives me my own time to clean and do things around the house, but he had kids that were his friends and were able to play and learn with. Wednesday when I picked him up from school this cute little boy named Miguel in his class came up to Jantsen and said, "Jantsen I am going to miss you so much. Give me a hug buddy." haha...it was too cute! So they gave a hug and Jantsen said, "I am going to miss you Miguel." Who would have known he had other friends besides Lexi and Dylan! But just a few more months and then he will start back up again!

The graduation program was so cute! Miss Trudy and Miss Pam got each kid alittle graduation cap and tassel to wear. They walked in a single file line through the crowd singing a cute song that went something like this:
"This is the day we graduate, graduate, graduate. This is the day we graduate on our very special day."

It was pretty cute, with only about 4 of the 15 kids actually singing. Trying to get 3-5 year olds to follow directions all at once gets crazy but his 2 teachers did a wonderful job! The kids each got a little certificate/diploma. Jantsen was pretty excited during the whole process. His little 3 year old class was so cute as Miss Trudy was calling up each student one by one. She would say their first and last name and they would walk up and get their diploma. Well Jantsen's class, I guess, wasn't use to hearing each other's last name so after Miss Trudy would say the name, all of them would repeat it and laugh. They just thought it was the funniest thing to hear each other's full names! It just cracks me up what amuses little kids!!

This past year of preschool for Jantsen has just been wonderful. My expectations have far been exceeded with what they have taught him. He knows, recognizes all of the alphabet (lower and upper case) and can write most of them. He also knows the sound that some of the letters make, and he now tries to sound out some words. He knows his colors and shapes and knows how to count all the way to 29 without any help, he forgets that 30 comes after that, but if I remind him he can make it to 39, then I remind him that 40 comes after that, ect...all the way to 100. He can write and spell his name really well. Miss Trudy said that he listens really well and is very helpful to her and other students. He loved playing with all the cars on the car mat and his other favorite part of school was gym time when he could run "his fastest".

I am so proud of Jantsen and he is such a wonderful and smart little man! Congrats Jantsen, our little graduate! Mom and Dad love you so much!

Wow, you have been a blogging maniac! But that's good, I missed it while you were away on your fun vacation. Isn't it funny how stressful and crazy "vacations" are, but it's ALWAYS worth it?

Yea Jantsen!! What a cute little graduation program! Those little kids look so cute in their graduation cap! I'm glad to hear that Jantsen has found some other friends though he probably won't see them again until school starts up. Congratulations to the parents of the graduate!:)

I wish we could have been there for that. Lexi talks about Dylan and Jantsen everyday. When she meets a new boy she says "hes NOT my boyfriend, Jantsen and Dylan are my boyfriends" We will have to get them together soon!
