Ride in the Rain and An unexpected Visitor

Today it rained almost the whole morning but it was still pretty warm outside. I swear nothing will stop Jantsen from going outside and riding on his bike. Alittle rain never hurt anyone Right?! He was pretty excited to put on his rain boots and ride through the puddles. (He has had these rain boots for about 1 1/2 years and I think this is the first time out of the hundreds of times he has already worn them, that he has used them for the rain) He was totally into riding through all the puddles and loved having the rain come down on his coat hood.

After the rain stopped I brought Kambryn out and we walked around the neighborhood. She is totally Jantsen's sister because she LOVES walking over the speed bumps and I am sure once she can ride a bike, going over the "bump bumps" will be her favorite thing too! She did have her first spill out on the sidewalk. I think her coat is still alittle too puffy for her to move her arms. She pretty much did a forehead plant into the cement. I know it won't be her first battle wound with walking.

After she had her fall I pulled out her walker to help her keep from falling again! We spent about 2 hours just walking around outside. It was nice to have a change from the humidity we had last week.

"Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener...that is what I'd really like to be!"

As we were getting ready for dinner tonight, I heard Kyle say "Oh my heck, it's the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile!" WHAT? Huh? Are you kidding? But nope, he was serious. The Wienermobile was coming down the street. Of course I grabbed my old broken camera and pulled Jantsen out of the house to get some pictures. He was alittle confused what the "weird truck" was but thought it was so cool after he got up close to it. Turns out that some of our friends that live here knows a guy that is a driver and so they "rented" it and went out to dinner.

Crazy, yes it really was one of the strangest and craziest surprises I have seen here in Omaha! Jantsen and most of the close neighborhood kids were able to see inside the mobile and also get a wiener whistle. What a fun thing for a kid to get to see and experience. I was totally excited so I am sure that it was a highlight for Jantsen too, or at least once he is old enough to realize what a funny thing he was able to see! It turned out to be a pretty entertaining day.

Janel wasn't Crystal an unexpected visitor??? We're a little hurt that you did not include her... (And a little relieved that you didn't post pictures of us in our jammies:) We laughed our heads off at the Weiner mobile.... I told her it was a regular visitor at the Green.

Janel, I just checked my email and saw these pictures! They're hilarious. Thanks for snapping our photo. We're planning on using it for Christmas cards and blowing it up to put over our mantel. I'm sure you are too...

So who rented it for dinner out?! That is hilarious. Looks like you're already having a fun village green summer. Jelous! I heard about the new kids structure in the gardens. You'll have to post pics of it for me! Sounds like fun.

I can honestly say that I've never seen a wienermobile in person! That's so cool! How fun for the kids to get to see it and get a whistle.:)
