Just over a year ago was the first time Kyle, our kids and I came out to Omaha to see if Creighton University was even an option for us to consider. We really had no idea where we were going but we stayed at a hotel right downtown, really close to the Conagra Riverfront Park. So that was one of the things we did while visiting here a year ago. And this park is just amazing. Well ironically and completely unplanned, today was the first time we have actually been back as a family.

I still remember the feelings and comfort that I felt as we were walking around that park about a year ago. Believe me, I was more than just alittle resistant to the idea of Nebraska possibly being our home for law school and I was almost positive that I would hate it when we first visited. I thought Kyle would see that I wanted to stay west and I would get what I want and things would be great. But obviously that didn't happen. But really I love it here in Nebraska. I think the time I fell in love with moving to the mid-west was on our visit out, and finally getting through Wyoming, we were driving in Nebraska and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. There were big green trees and grass and ponds/lakes along I-80. I couldn't believe how BIG the sky was. It really is something you can't understand unless you experience it yourself. But to try and explain, I was so use to mountains all around, (that I totally miss and love) but not having any mountains that are miles in the sky that cut off more than half the sky, out here in Nebraska the sky goes all the way to the ground. It just looks HUGE! It really is beautiful!

I really am so grateful to be out here in Omaha. I am sure when this whole school process is done I will be ready for the next stage in our lives but for now, I am glad that we are here! What a fun day to be able to look back at this last year and how much fun we have had and memories we have made!

There was this cute little family of geese that were swimming around in the pond. Look how cute the little baby geese are. Jantsen was able to feed them and Kambryn would just stare and point at them swimming!

I love the Conagra campus park! It's so beautiful!! I really loved Omaha as well and I seriously do miss it! You'll miss it when you guys leave in a few years too. And watch out...the next 2 years will just fly by.
I love Conagra's park! Well I can speak for all of us when I say that we are all so glad that you choose Omaha! We have had the best time with you and I am really glad we have a year left to hang out!
I remember bawling our first night here and pretty much loving it after that. It's good to move away...you learn so much. So Lynnsey Asay Kimball just moved into my ward! Fun huh.
Can you believe it has been one year! We got here one year ago also. I was just thinking that the year is also half over now that we are in June! Crazy!!
I think it's such a good thing to be far away from family and everything you're used to for a while. I don't know if it's because you know it's temporary or that it feels good to really be out on your own. Probably some of both. I'm glad you are enjoying Omaha. Now that we are in Idaho I realize how much I love and miss Denver. I was so sad to leave, but at the same time excited to be near family and get on with real life. Have fun!
Hey! I love summer 2. I am happy it is finally here. Here are directions to the sprinkler park - it is sooo fun. It also has a playground area. Off Center St., turn south on 125 Ave (by Ihop), turn right at the stop sign (Krug), go straight at the next stop sign (Pederson), and follow that past Oak Valley School. Let me know when you go I will meet you there:)
