Sports, swinging and BBQ party

Saturday was a beautiful day. We had rain here in Omaha on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this last week. And it wasn't just alittle rain, it was rivers in the parking lot, down-pour with huge rain drops and then adding humid hot weather while it was raining. Not the typical nice rain storm that cools everything and feels good to be outside, it was muggy and gross and hot and it was raining. Weird! So we were more than grateful to see the sun and have warm non-humid weather so we could play outside on Saturday. Jantsen was in a sports mood and decided he wanted to practice his basketball and baseball skills in our basement and then after he was done with that, he ran upstairs and put on his soccer cleats and shinguards so he could try out his new pop-up goal. Of course I had to dress him in his BYU soccer shirt and matching short...Go Cougs!! He sure looks cute in his little uniform. I guess I should start saying he looks tough or else he might be some sissy kid. So we went outside for alittle kick around with some neighbor friends.

The soccer didn't last too long. However the slides and swings were pretty exciting for both Kambryn and Jantsen. It was nice that Kyle didn't have any studying to do on Saturday so he stayed outside to watch the kids so I could Mega Deep Clean my house!! And it really needed it. I am so glad it is all dusted, scrubbed, mopped, washed, vacuumed and smelling good. Especially after the week I had. And to not be interrupted with kids.

So after we had fun playing outside and cleaning the house, we went to a BBQ party at the institute, another meet and greet mingling activity. The had a lot of kiddie games for the first hour and my kids LOVED it. They did some of the same things that we did at our fair, except they had a parachute that was just awesome. Kambryn liked the fishing booth because she got a necklace and a bracelet called "pretties". So she was happy about those. We had fun mingling and meeting new people and letting the kids run wild and of course eating good food and lots of desserts.

We stayed for a couple of hours and then made our way over to the Egbert's for a Utah football game. I put the kids in bed and came over later (with my baby monitor to still listen for them) and just hung out with some friends. It was a busy but very successful Saturday (mainly because I cleaned my house and it is so nice) I feel like I want to deep clean every week but that might be just a good intention and that's about it, but I will try! I love a clean house!

It is Parker's birthday today and we just wanted to wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Parker is such a tough little stud! Him and Jantsen are just the best of friends and I am so glad that Jantsen has a cousin that is right around his same age. They have so much fun together. When we ask Jantsen who his best friend is, he almost certainly will answer "Parker" everytime. (except Jantsen says "Pahkah" still can't say his 'r''s. But Parker is so full of energy and life and such a fun boy to be around. He loves sports and dinosaurs and wrestling with his daddy and grandpa. We love Parker so much and hope he has the best birthday ever! Happy Birthday Parker!
