Park City Week Part 1

We are here in Utah enjoying a wonderful and much need Fall Break. Fall is such a beautiful season and what better way to enjoy this fabulous season than to be in the mountains in Park City, Utah! My parents got a week at the Mountainside Resort and it has been so much fun hanging out and relaxing with all our family.

We got here on Friday night after a LONG drive. We lucked out with renting a minivan instead of a full size car (we didn't want to put another 1000 miles of wear and tear on our pathfinder, so we rented a car...well they gave us a minivan for the price of a car) and having the van was a life saver with having to drive through the day!! The kids were pretty good the whole way except for the last 10 minutes of the drive. Kambryn pretty much was done with driving and she was letting us know it! We were happy to finally be out of the car. My parents, Curtis, James and Parker, and Natalie and Chris were already here waiting for us to arrive. It was a packed house but so much fun! We spent the night hanging out, swimming in the hot tubs/pools, and getting unpacked.

My dad loves his grand kids and loves to do the fun things with them, like putting goggles on and going swimming. (they had a blast with just trying on the goggles). I think every time we go to Park City we have to get a picture with Jantsen and someone in goggles (last April PC vacation, crazy picture with Curtis). Weird things are fun for us!

Saturday was a LONG day again! Natalie, Chris, my mom and I left Park City before 9am and spent the day doing wedding stuff (except Chris was at work for most of the day). Our first stop was the Provo High Bridal Fair. How much fun are those things...Awesome! We had alot of fun. We also went wedding dress shopping! We went to a few shops but I swear Natalie probably tried on 50 dresses that day. I was loving it and she looked gorgeous in every dress she put on, it made me want to try on dresses but I settled with only trying on some veils for her. Haha. Her fiance Chris and I had a good time with the veils. We finally got back up to Park City around 10:00pm. Wedding stuff for 13 hours. WOW! While I was out having a good time, Kyle and the kids played with all our family. Jantsen and Parker were attached at the hip. They ran around in their Halloween costumes, played cars, looked out the window, everything, and Kambryn was the little tag along. Kristen, Eme and Kara came up and helped watch the kids while Kyle and Kade went golfing. Kyle had a great time golfing and I was glad that he could get away and relax. We have wonderful family members that watched Jantsen and Kambryn so we could both get away.

The cute kids in their Halloween costumes. Parker loved wearing his Batman costume so that got Jantsen wanting to wear his pirate costume. We couldn't just let the 2 boys get all dressed up and not put Kambryn's cute fairy tutu on. I love Halloween and costumes! So cute!

Who doesn't love being around Uncle Curtis? He is Jantsen's very best friend. There is just something about him that kids absolutely love being around. I am so grateful for the good example he is to my kids, and to Kyle and I! He is a wonderful brother!

Eme and Kambryn hanging out at the hot tub pools with Kristen and Kara. I have cute and wonderful sister-in-laws!

Here is one of the pictures that Kara took of Natalie and Chris. What a gorgeous couple, a fabulous photographer and you can't forget about the amazing camera bag holder! (that was me!)

Sunday we went to Lehi. Kara was awesome and took some engagement pictures for Natalie and Chris. Of course I had to tag along and they turned out really cute. Kyle, the kids and I then went over to his mom's house for dinner and spent the evening hanging out. We got the kids in their Halloween costumes (Emerson didn't have hers but Evelyn pulled out an old pumpkin costume that we threw on her). They looked so cute! Little kids are so innocent and I love that just the smallest things can entertain them! I totally forgot to take pictures of the whole day and so I am relying on my fabulous sister in law Kara to send me some hopefully! We had such a great time spending the day in Lehi with Kyle's family! We really miss being close to all our family and especially Sunday dinner at Evelyn's house. Delish!!

Monday we went down to the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point. It isn't as extreme as Vala's Pumpkin Patch in Omaha but it was still alot of fun. They had alot of those blow-up bouncy things/slides that Jantsen just absolutely loved! He was running around like a mad man and was in heaven. Kambryn and Eme also got in on the fun. Jeremy and Kyle took the girls down one of the slides and they loved it (the dads and the girls both). Then the guys thought it would be fun to see if the girls could go down the slide by themselves. Jeremy sent Eme down and she was bouncing and rolling the whole time. She is a tough girl and didn't get hurt at all, but that made me immediately change my mind about Kambryn doing it. Sorry Kambryn that you have a worry-wart of a mom that doesn't let you do fun things (dangerous things) ha. We had a great time riding the train, driving peddle bikes, playing carnival games, and getting the kids' faces painted. I kept telling Kyle while we were driving back to Park City "That was so much fun...I am so glad we went...Jantsen and Kambryn were loving it..." I couldn't stop ranting and raving about it! Going to a pumpkin patch was one of the things on my To-Do List while we were in Utah so I was so happy that my in-laws brought up the idea and that we went.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! We love the Fall!!

Today we have been lounging around the resort for most of the morning. We made some great breakfast and watched TV and hung out. We finally decided to get up and going around noon. We loaded up in the minivan (Curtis, Natalie and our family) and drove up to the Utah Winter Olympic Park. We walked around the museum and took lots of pictures. It was really cold outside but we still had a great time walking around.

WE LOVE PARK CITY!

Sounds like you are having a blast! I love Park City. It is so pretty up there and especially this time of the year. We were just in Utah also and I can't believe how many bright colors there are with the changing leaves...it is beautiful. It seems like it is prettier this year, or maybe I am just use to Omaha...gray and boring! :)

I love Park city, too! It looks like you guys had a blast. Your sister is so pretty! How fun that you got to go wedding dress shopping with her. I have an idea. Let's go try on wedding dresses. We don't have to tell anyone about it!
