Kyle has had spring break this week. When I think of Spring Break things that come to my mind are:
1-Husband home all day
2- Nice warm weather
3- Bike rides, playing at the park, BBQs out on the patio
4-Spring cleaning the house
5-Lots of relaxing time
But that was not what was happening at our house:
1-Kyle still had work and decided to put in about 40 hours this week (leaving at 7:30 and getting home at 3:00). I am glad he was able to work though...so that isn't complaining, but still it wasn't that much of a "break".
2-Jantsen had school and I still had my training to do (same schedule for the kids and I at home. Not much felt different)
3-It was FREEZING weather. Highs in the teens and maybe the 20's.
4-Busy busy busy! We were busy this week. Getting stuff ready for me to go out of town, kids going to the dentist, kindergarten round-up, field trip at preschool...
5-We didn't get as much cleaning done on the house as I wanted, but...
Kambryn went to the dentist for her first time. and she did GREAT!!! Oh my gosh, I couldn't stop taking pictures because I knew that Kyle wouldn't believe it if I just told him.
Kambryn is actually really happy in this picture, that is her over-excited cheeser smile! she loved this little stuffed...animal. I wasn't sure what animal it was, but she was able to brush this guy's teeth with the huge toothbrush. That was fun for her.
The hygienist asked Kambryn if she knew how to open her mouth, so she kept it open almost the whole time. Oh...she isn't my baby anymore. Look how old she looks!
Getting her teeth brushed with the big girl toothpaste while watching Little Einsteins. I couldn't believe how still she was sitting and that she let them brush her teeth.
THIS NEVER HAPPENS AT OUR HOUSE! She is usually screaming!
Kambyrn has a chip on her front 2 teeth so they wanted to get an x-ray of them. I was really nervous that she would push the little plastic thing out of her mouth with her tongue. But she opened her mouth up wide and bit down hard on it and did awesome. She sat on my lap and was excited to have the smiley face cover on her too.
The dentist was even able to scrape some stuff off her teeth! But only for about 5 minutes and then she was done. Not crying, just didn't want anyone else putting stuff in her mouth! I was so proud of her. She did great. I think that she was so willing to do all these things because she watch Jantsen go through it all last week. Gotta love the ginny pig older sibling for that!
Loving her prize bag! New toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, coloring book and a bracelet. Such a fun day for a kid!
Clean and Healthy Teeth for Kambryn!!
We decided that Jantsen was going to go to the hospital and be put under to get his cavities fixed. He is scheduled for Friday April 10th. We have to check in at 6:30am. That is early! But Kyle and I felt good about him being put under and having him have as little pain as possible. It should be a quick procedure. About a 4 hour stay at the hospital and then probably by that evening or next morning he should be back to normal. But it is always scary when your kid has to go through something, even if it is as little as putting a cap on a tooth. But Jantsen is a tough kid and I am sure he will do great!

Your Spring Break sounds just like ours. With the kids in school and hubby working too breaks just aren't quite what I hope for :). I'm glad at least it'll get warmer this weekend. I'm ready for Spring Weather!

What a little trooper she is!
Kambryn looks so cute in those pictures!
Don't you just love that dentist! She is great and so are all of the hygienists. I took my kids there last month and they both had so much fun!
I'm sorry that Jantsen has to go in to the hospital...Ryan has to do the same thing on the 27th of this month. I'm a little nervous, but I think going to hospital to get it done is the best way to do it!
Wow for Kambryn! Natalie has never been and I can imagine your fear...so glad she so well.
Wow, sounds like both kids did awesome! Good luck with Jantsen's procedure.
How did Jants get cavites? He never eats candy! Poor kiddo! Kambryn looks so cute and grown up going to the dentist! I think I am going to make Eme an apointment when I get back from there. Speaking of that, aren't you way excited to be leaving for Europe?! You haven't said anything about it! I wouldn't be able to sleep cause I would be so excited. Don't get me wrong coming to the midwest is a pretty close second but I have a feeling your trip is going to be awesome! Have fun!
This post is right down my alley! I work in a pediatric dental office now and see little ones like Kambryn all the time. She really did do AMAZINGLY well for her age! Before I worked in this office, I worked up at Primary Children's in the dental OR. Jantsen will do great. It really is the best way to get work done on little guys. Good Luck! If you have questions, lemme know. :)
I can't believe how big she is getting ahhhh!! they grow up so fast! I am sure that Jantsen will do GREAT! We love you and miss you! When are we going to see you again??
I'm sitting here in amazement.. I can't believe Kambryn sat there and did so well, I really CAN NOT imagine taking Parker to the dentist (its long overdue, i know.. I think I am the dreading it. He's the most stubborn boy and it would be quite an experience. He doesn't mind me brushing his teeth but just doesn't let other people help him very good. I'm sure he has cavities since all he wants is chocolate! sad. I didn't know that you could go to the hospital to get cavities filled, we'll have to talk about that. he doesn't have much luck if he has my genes, I have the worst teeth over.
can't end with saying HAVE SO MUCH FUN ON YOUR TRIP!!! I'm assuming you're leaving tomorrow or the next:) no kids... have a blast! sleep in..(maybe, sure that there will be so much to see) but do lots of relaxing and I can't wait to hear all about it!!
ha ha your comment on my blog made me laugh. Don't worry about being late on the gift. I for one hate mailing things from the post office, especially when I have to bring my kids with me! Good luck with Jantsen, your post reminded me that Dylan is over due for visiting the dentist and so am I!
Spring break already?? It's not warm enough!! Sounds like you guys had a fun and busy week though. Kambryn looks so cute in that last picture! She is getting big!
