Jantsen goes to the Dentist...

On Thursday we took Jantsen to the dentist. It was the 2nd time he has ever been there, and it has been almost a year and a half since his last visit. (not the best parenting style...) But things went just fine and I absolutely LOVE this pediatric dentist. She is amazing and has such a fun office. My kids thought the barn and all the farm animals were just awesome!

They let Jantsen pick a cartoon to watch the whole time and he also was able to wear these cool spiderman sunglasses. Pretty cool to a 4 year old.

He listened really well and did a great job when they were cleaning, brushing and flossing his teeth. Oh he is such a little man now...no more little boy Jantsen.

I was alittle nervous about him having to get the x-rays done on his mouth. No one likes to stick those hard plastic things in their mouth and have them dig into your gums and cheeks. But he did great. He thought it was pretty cool wearing the smiley face heavy protective covering thing (I am not sure what it is called but you know what I am saying). They showed us his x-rays and we could see his permanent teeth growing. When he loses his first tooth, oh that will be a sad day (for me of course).
Jantsen unfortunately has a few cavities in his back teeth. So we were given a few options. The dentist wants to put those yucky silver caps over the teeth with cavities. So the first option is he goes to her office and with alittle discomfort and pain, she puts them on right there. Or else we take him to the hospital and he gets put under and feels no pain or discomfort, nut is put completely under. So it is alittle scary to try and decide what we are going to do.
Pain and discomfort associated with going to the dentist, but can't get in until about June-July?
or
No pain or anything but being put under with anesthetics and we get in the end of March?
We have about a week to decide. I always get sick to my stomach thinking of my kid in pain or going through anything scary. Luckily Kyle and I have been fine with being put under and have never had any complications, but still, all the risks. I guess there is risks in alot of things when it comes to having kids.
But he will have to have a surgery done sometime to fix the gap in his front teeth. Unfortunately they won't just grow together, so he will have to be put under for that one later. All I can say is he better have some pretty stinking good looking teeth when he is older. All this work for alittle kids, good thing he is a brave kid. So we will see what will happen.
Look at those nice clean white teeth!

What a cute boy!
Now it is Kambryn's turn for her first visit to the dentist next week. Oh please help us all! She hates anyone trying to brush her teeth or look in her mouth. I don't know, she's weird but we will give it a try!

Until Next Week!

Well now that the dentist check-ups are done.... Your kids did great! I'm sure that's a relief! I'd hate to be the parent whose kid is screaming and crying the whole time!!:)
