It's Beginning to Look like Christmas

On Saturday we went down the street to the Botanical Gardens too look at their Christmas Pointsetias and Trees. I want to get my kids' Christmas pictures taken this week and so I wanted to see how the decorations were looking down at the Gardens. And they Look so pretty!! They also have their wooden trains on display inside so that was fun for Jantsen. When we got there we didn't know that it was the day that Santa was visiting. So it was more busy then we were expecting. But we were able to get Kambryn to talk to Santa, finally!

Kyle had to stand with her, she wouldn't sit on his lap. (but at least it is progress) She told Santa she was 2 years old and then loudly said that she wants "A Purse". The girl is obsessed with girly stuff! (this wasn't the cutest looking Santa so I was too sad that Jantsen didn't want anything to do with him. He was a really nice old guy, but it is all about the look of Santa I think!) We still have the mall and the Bass Pro Shop (apparently has a way cute Santa) to hit up for our "Santa Picture".

And finally, Yesterday we got snow that stuck longer than a few hours! I can't believe it is Dec 8th and it is finally snowing! Well the kids wanted to take advantage of the snow and their new snow boots. So out we went for some belly and bum sledding and eating snow!

I knew that Jantsen would love being out there. He started making "paths" in the snow, snow angels, snowballs...everything and anything. He loved teaching Kambryn the cool things she could do in the snow...eat snow, slide down a hill on her stomach, run and jump into the pile of snow in the street. All the stuff that an older brother should teach their younger sister.

I was kind of nervous that Kambryn would get cold too fast or just not like being in the snow for that long, but I had to drag the girl inside!! And I also threaten to take away her blanket if she kept eating snow with rocks in it. She would just pick up a handful of snow from wherever she was standing and love it! I quickly had to teach her the rules to eating snow.

Well we woke up to another few inches of snow this morning. And last night, the Omaha School District was nervous about the "Predicted Snow Weather" and so they cancelled school for the day. I think in all my years of school in Utah, school was cancelled 3 times! Jantsen is only in kindergarten and already has a snow day. But we will have fun playing in the snow again today. Now I just need to invest in a sled!
