Jantsen's school had their annual carnival on Thursday. And it was a blast! ha. I love school carnivals. It really was one of my favorite things when I was a kid. The cake walk, face paints, balloons, dunk tank. Oh those simples pleasures!
So we spent the afternoon walking around, doing all the little games and winning dinky little prizes (but my kids loved all the little toys), taking pictures and enjoying the nice weather.
My mom, of course, was there (since she is a teacher at the school, she had to run one of the games for about an hour), and Kara and Kristen and their cute kiddos came down to join us. I am so glad they did. I thought it was just a nice, relaxing, and fun time.
My kids were so excited to wear their little punch passes around their necks. Right as we got there, Jantsen saw the train ride (john deer tractor pulling some wagons) and he was so excited. Kambryn was so happy and just had the biggest smile on her face when we walked into the carnival.
Well that "happiness" from Kambryn quickly faded when it was time to get on the train ride. I don't know what happened but she was so excited right until it was her turn to get in the wagon, and she started freaking out. Uggh! We even tried for a second time with Eme and Lydia too...but again...she was so excited and then freaked out when I went to put her on it. Oh well. We will just stick to the kiddie games I guess.
But we did enjoy some other games and parts of the carnival. Especially the rocket launcher. We could have spent the WHOLE time there and the kids would have been completely content. It was so cute. They made their own little rocket. (Jantsen picked a black one with blue and orange wings, and Kambryn picked a hot pink one...with purple and pink wings. We named it "Princess Kambryn".) But the rocket would seriously launch about 200 feet in the air. It was awesome!
The best part of the rocket launcher was watching Jantsen run out after each rocket and attempt to catch them. He would wave his arms in the air while it was falling. Without fail, the rocket would always land about 10 feet away from where he was. I guess 6 year old don't have that great of perspective on falling objects.
The girls and Tayden enjoyed their snow cones.
and Jantsen enjoyed getting his face painted. (it is a snake if you can't tell. I kept calling it a gecko. But no...it is a snake)
The two boys (T and T) enjoyed attacking each other. Lovingly of course. And cute Lydia was content just walking around and keeping her mom entertained. Lydia won an eraser and decided to give it to Jantsen, because she was mistaking it for candy. Jantsen then went and won her a hand clapper so it was a fair trade.
I think we all had a fabulous time. Hooray for the carnival!
