I don't think there is anything better than being up in the mountains all day, having a picnic, hiking, planning out camping trips, throwing rocks in the river...I Love the smell, the cool air, the dirt, the trees, the amazing views you get while hiking, EVERYTHING!

On Saturday we crossed another thing off our bucket list...Hiking to Timpanogos cave, with adding in a picnic too.
We got up to the cave trail entrance and bought our tickets but had to wait for about 2 hours until we could start hiking. It was Busy! But we drove up to Tibble Fork Reservoir and hung around the water and then had some lunch.
Skipping rocks in the river...
a must when you are in the mountains.
Talan more or less just made my dad grab all the
rocks he could find so Talan could throw them in.
I told Jantsen and Curt to give me their
toughest looking face ever
and this is what I got.
I think they would scare off the bears for us!
We had so much fun! It sure wasn't just an easy little hike. A nice almost 4 mile round trip walk up the mountain. Jantsen was the leader the whole time. He loved it. Kambryn was such a tough little chick too. Up and back all by herself...she didn't have to be picked up once. I told her we could stop at the little benches as much as she needed to. And she made it the whole way. I was so proud of her. Talan had the luxury of riding in the backpack the whole time. Curt was awesome and carried him the entire hike.
The Boys!
The girls!
The hike was tough and sweaty and hot but it was so worth it when finally went into the caves. They were amazing! Curt and I had been through before when we were in elementary school but it was like we were all going through them for the first time. I didn't remember them being so amazing! We all loved it.
Jantsen was the official "Junior Speleologist"
(a.k.a. The tour guy's helper.)
When we came out of the caves Kambryn turned to me and asked it we could go through again. She kept pointing at all the different things in the caves saying "That is so beautiful mom" or "That looks slimy." But she loved it! I love going on these activities with my kids but I really wish Kyle was out here with us! We miss him a lot!
I love these pictures of Jantsen and Kambryn sitting together.
We had to wait for Curt to go back up to the entrance of the cave to get
Talan's backpack and so these 2 took a break in the shade
next to each other and talked.
I hope they can always stay close!
Curt is the best brother and uncle!
Talan fell asleep on the way down
while Curt was singing "Wheels on the Bus".
It was a long day for Talan and I am
so glad that he did so great.
Not one whine or cry (except when
we took him out of the backpack).
I am so glad we put hiking to Timp Cave on our Bucket List because it was amazing!

Looks so fun! I love that hike! Last summer we lost one of Tayden's binkies in the caves! He was so hard to have in there cause he just wanted to get down & crawl & was so mad cause we wouldn't put him down. Can you imagine this summer? Yikes! I don't think we will be doing that again for a couple years!
