Kitchen Stage 2...Done!

Today we continued our renovation of the kitchen. We accomplished the paint portion and probably Kyle's least favorite. But truthfully who really loves taping off cupboards, priming everything and then finally putting your choice of color on the walls?! My whole attitude is that I really have to keep thinking about the end product and how happy I will be when it is done, and so that is what kept me going throughout the day. For those that haven't been in our kitchen we had sage/celery/yucky dull green walls. Exciting huh! Well it was about time to change the color and so we got a nice tan taupe color that just looks great! Great addition to our new ceiling fan! It is coming together Fabulously!!Here are a few pictures. Jantsen honestly Loves to paint, so he got in on the job. He is just our handy man lately. We gave him his own little brush and a certain section of wall and he painted that whole thing (took him almost the whole time for his little section) but he put his whole heart into it and made sure there was no more white spots showing through! I am so glad to beable to check the painting portion of the renovation off the list! Now onto the floors! Aghhh! This should be fun and an experience, but hey we are building memories as a family so that is all that counts, and also it is only Village Green, it isn't like we are rennovating a Richmond American Home right!?

We are still dealing with the ever-so-strong new paint smell throughout the house, so we packed the kids up tonight and went out to eat. My vote was to also stay in hotel, well okay not really, that would have been alittle extreme. But we did go out for dinner to try to get the kids out of the smell. We had a fun Family Home Evening/Day and I love having the green GONE! Pictures of the finished product will come later!

It is Pa's birthday today. (kyle's dad) I just want to say how wonderful I think my father-in-law is. Pa is just the most caring, considerate, genuine, and wonderful person and I just really look up to him so much! I appreciate all he has done for me, and Kyle, our kids, our family as a whole, and just the love and support and care that he gives to us, I am so grateful for! We miss him and Claudia sooo much and we just wanted, and I wanted to, wish Pa a very Happy Birthday. I love you and thank you so much for being so wonderful. We LoVe YoU!!

Isn't it great when kids are cheap labor? Jeremy's super cute neice, Rebecca helped me paint Eme's room. She loved it! I hear you on the painting thing. I always get excited to do it and then 1/4 of the way through think this stinks! Literally! Well good luck and I can't wait till we can come see it in person. Maybe this fall? I am pretty sure it is a no go for going to Paris so I am going to push for as many other trips as I can this year. Paris, Omaha about equal right? Hey, Omaha has you guys and Quaker Steak and Lube so that makes it pretty close!

That looks like a big job but you got it done and I'm sure it feels great! I'm really impressed that Jantsen was such a little painter! What a good little helper. I love the color you painted too! Looks great!

You go Jansten! I wish I was brave enough to let Nicole go at painting(luckily she was sick when we did it). Bret even struggled with letting Whitney help(he's a perfectionist). Anyways...I love the paint job! It is a huge pain in the butt but it looks totally worth it!

Looking good you guys. I feel your pain with the renovations, it's SO much fun right? Glad to see you guys are doing good, did we win our game on Saturday? One other thing - do you need another client for training? look no further if that is the case.

Since you are now an expert renovator I need some advice on what to do with some areas in our house. I will have to email you the slide show. I really have no skills when it comes to interior design! I'm gonna have to find some fun things to do when you guys come visit memphis. You all might be the only ones who come! I don't think we could convince marshall and dana to leave AZ to come to memphis lol!
