Good times at dinner

The dreaded "Finals" time has come again here in Omaha for our family! Kyle has been taking a couple of summer classes these last 6 weeks and his finals are next Monday and Wednesday. So of course, just like around Christmas and the end of May, I become a single mom trying to entertain two rambunctious kids. Kyle has been really working hard this summer, with a whole semester of information crammed into 6 weeks, he has had to study ALOT! But we are proud of him, but so ready for alittle break from school. I do however get to look forward to each night at dinner when he does come home and I get some much needed conversation that doesn't consist of "Hey Mom, look at this cool truck (the garbage truck driving by), can we buy that?" or "Kambryn come lay here and see if I can jump over you!" or else "Mom I am going to do, what I want to do, Okay!".Last night at dinner Jantsen was eating his oh-so-favorite vegetable, Baby Carrots. Well Jantsen also has a nice gap between his front two teeth that he has started to discover that it is different than other peoples (he thinks that he has lost a tooth that should be there). So while Kyle was cleaning up and I was feeding Kambryn some food, off to the side of me I hear alittle giggle/chuckle and then a cute little voice say "Hey look at my new trick." This is what Kyle and I turned to see...

Oh boy...how he comes up with these things, I have no idea! Somehow he pushed a carrot between his teeth and gave us the biggest fake cheeser ever! But we had a good laugh and I still laugh thinking about him figuring it out and being so excited to share his talent!

I have also decided that it is about time to get Kambryn's hair cut. It of course will wait until we get to Utah (either Buffy or my mom will do it in a cute little Bob-hopefully) but she is sporting the mullet with stringy bangs hanging in her eyes. He hair is curly in the back and so that helps disguise the awful mullet, but it is about time to get her first haircut.

I have said it before and I'll say it again- - Jantsen is such a funny kid! I think his little gap is cute. And what a milestone Kambryn is coming up on! Her 1st haircut!

Boys do the weirdest things! My brother used to take one of those big pink erasers, break it in half and glue it to his nose at school. It would make other kids laugh, and he'd of course get in trouble. :) We don't leave for Hawaii till after Christmas. :( Nick has a lot of thesis finishing and defending to do between now and then. But I'm ready to go at any time!

These picks are so funny! I showed Lexi and she laughed and said "He's my boyfriend!" She must like the boys who make her laugh! We leave for Idaho on thursday and start the drive home on saturday or sunday after the 4th. If you guys are there maybe we can meet somewhere for lunch or dinner! I love yours and kristins date ideas I might copy!
