Journal Post

Rylee Egbert, Keoni Roring, Lily Roring, Sadie Rasmussen and Jantsen "snuggling" watching the fireworks at our opening ceremony smores party. These kids were so cute that night!

This last week has been busy. The College World Series are here in Omaha and things have been crazy. I can't believe how many people are into the baseball...I don't get it but oh well! haha. No, but really the city of Omaha is so busy and it doesn't help that the stadium is about 1 mile from our house and so there are cars everywhere. It is actually pretty exciting and entertaining so I can't complain. Kyle has been to a couple of games this last week with his buddies, while the kids and I have been taking advantage of the nice dry heat with going swimming and other fun activities with friends.

Kambryn and Jantsen playing at a sprinkler park. They loved it and the best part is that it is totally free!

A few things that I have been meaning to write about are just some little "journaling" tid-bits about my kids. With Kambryn growing up so fast, lately I have been trying to compare with how Jantsen was at her age, but since I didn't do a great job of journaling his growing up, I wanted to do a better job (for both of them.) (so for those that don't want to read about my kids' little details, you can stop reading if you want to)

Jantsen is almost 4 and I can't believe how big he is getting. He loves trains, cars, trucks, trailers, riding lawn mowers that pull trailers, u-haul trailers, pretty much anything that is connected to something else, he is overwhelmed with excitement to see it. And he INSISTS that we should buy something that looks exactly like that machine/vehicle. He is very meticulous about lining up his cars and trains, making sure they are in the straightest line possible. He LOVES riding his big bike and is really starting to cruise on it, I am thinking that Kyle might have to give it a try with taking off his training wheels and seeing how he will do. He is very athletic and LOVES running. I think that if he knew that I was running a half marathon in a few months, he would be all over it. The kid could run forever and loves it.

Jantsen is a very attentive kid and pays close attention to details. That is something that Kyle and I are having to be careful about. We have moved from being able to have a conversation together and not worrying about Jantsen really paying attention or listening to what we say to now, having to talk really in private or when Jantsen isn't around because he really listens to everything and wants to be involved. Which is alittle ironic because about a million times a day I have to remind Jantsen about the same thing over and over because he doesn't listen when I want him to. But he is a good kid and is so much fun to have around. And I can't forget what a great older brother (but still is a typical older brother) to Kambryn and really tries to "help" her with everything. He loves to hold her hand and give her hugs and kisses. He is a wonderful little man and makes us smile and laugh everyday!

Kambryn is almost 15 months old, HOLY COW! It definitely goes by way too fast! Kambryn's latest milestone his her cute run that she loves to do. She totally does the whole stick the butt out behind her, stick her belly out in front and then her arms go straight back behind her and she just takes off with her wobble run! Seriously one of the cutest and funniest things to see! She is starting to get more into girlie things, like dolls, purses, brushing her hair and putting her headbands on. One of her favorite times of the day is when I am doing her hair and she gets to sit in the bathroom sink and watch herself get all dolled up. She smiles and laughs at herself in the mirror. She also loves Shoes!! Anytime her shoes aren't on, she finds any two that might be in our shoe basket and tries to put them on. I love having a little girl.

She has started to say a few words intentionally, I think. She barks at almost anything that walks on 2 legs, but she absolutely LOVES dogs, and dogs of ALL sizes too. She loves to stick her finger in their mouth and touch their tongues. While we were at the sprinkler park, there was a HUGE golden retriever and she spotted it from across the water park and she just took off running and barking the whole way. She went straight up to it and started screaming and petting it, she was so excited and this dog was huge, it was taller than her and about twice her size but she loved it! Her first actual word is Dad. Anytime she sees Kyle, especially when we pick him up from school, she screams Dad, Dad, Dadda. And just totally beams! Kyle has been busy with finals and so I think for her, absent definitely makes the heart grow fonder. I wish it was that "they who take care of you all day make the heart grow fonder" but no such luck. She attempts to say Jantsen, but isn't quite there. She can pretty much understand things that Kyle and I tell her. If we tell her to get a diaper and wipes, she toddles over and grabs one and brings it back. We will then tell her to lay down and put her feet up and she does it. She also totally knows that when we are about to say a prayer, she can now fold her arms, not that she keeps them that way for long, but at least she is learning.
Well those are a few things about the kids at this time. I am sure I will think of others that I will have to write about. I love being a mom and I am blessed with 2 wonderful, adorable kids!

You do have two adorable kids! How fun that they have so many fun friends. I don't get the baseball thing either but that is fun that you get to enjoy the fireworks!

They are pretty cute! I love that Kambryn is saying "Dada!" Kyle always needed a daddy's girl.

Bryce and I always loved College World Series time in Omaha! Bryce is a huge baseball fan so we made sure that we went to at least one game every year that we were there. I remember it being way crazy around the stadium and with you guys being so close I'm sure you're having to deal with all that.
