Movie Date

Kyle again had to study this morning. However, instead of going to the library like he usual does, he decided to study at home so I could take Jantsen to a matinee movie. Kambryn of course was going to be sleeping and so it would work out great for Kyle, and Jantsen and myself! We went to the movie Kung Fu Panda. We got some licorice (Jantsen's favorite candy) and we made our way to our seats. One of Jantsen's favorite time was during the previews. After each trailer, he would tell me if he wanted to see it, if he wanted just mommy and daddy to see that show, or if no one wanted to watch it. We are pretty booked with how many movies are coming out and how many we ARE going to be watching!
It was such a fun movie and so cute! Both Jantsen and I were laughing almost the whole time! His favorite part was when Panda "bong-ed the bad guy" with his belly. I am going to have to add this to our movie collection when it comes out.
I was talking with one of my friends today, asking her some advice on doing "Kid Dates" or how she spends one-on-one time with her 3 girls. She gave me some great ideas. One idea that I love is each month you take your kid out on their birthday date...so with Jantsen's b-day being on the 25th...each month on the 25th he gets to decide what activity, or where he wants to go, and who takes him. For Kambryn it would be on the 5th...of course when she gets older she would have more options. So when you get to have more kids, you can see how your month might get filled up pretty quick. And it was also said that the parents then schedule to go to the temple on the date of their anniversary, so Kyle and I would go each month on the 1st. I thought this was a great idea on how to be more consistent with exclusive time spent with each kid, and also of course making sure Kyle and I went to the temple. What a great idea, thanks so much Kristin!

Hi Janel. We are back in memphis since nick has had a couple orientations already. I will be in Utah for thanksgiving. It would be great if you guys went home for thanksgiving too. Besides that the only other place I will be visiting this summer is Maryland. I haven't been home in a year and a half!!! Call me sometime so we can catch up.

How fun! I'm glad that Jantsen liked the movie...Me and Casey were thinking about taking Riley to go see Kung Fu Panda sometime. Those are some cute ideas for the birthday dates! I think it's a great idea to spend some time with each of your children individually once and a while.

You guys look so cute! By the way this is Jenny and I can't believe you touched those snakes! The worst part for me is knowing that you probably let them go and they will find me sleeping at night!!!!!

dude, does Jants know that I can totally bog bad guys with my belly? You should tell him, then maybe he would think I am cool. Way to not be a hipocrite and spend one on one time with your kids, you are awesome.
