Kyle watching the Utah Football game = I get to blog!!

We have had the privilege of having visitors come during this last week.

Kara and Greg were driving home to Utah Sunday night after a summer of selling in North Carolina so of course Omaha is a great stopping spot for their long drive! We were so happy to see them! They were of course tired from driving all day but were wonderful enough to stay awake alittle longer and chat it up with us and humor our kids. Plus they had their dog Charlotte with them so Jants and Kam were going crazy over playing with her. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but we had fun spending the 10 hours with them while they were here in the big O.

Now we have Jeremy, Kristen and Emerson here for a few days. They have been experiencing the sites of the mid-west and we are so glad that they can spend some time with us here in Omaha. We have a fun weekend planned and today started off with some food at a great restaurant "Pepperjax" and then a few hours at the Kanesville Tabernacle. It is so fun to watch the kids play together, especially Eme and Kambryn! These 2 little energy bunnies just work off of each other and keep all 4 of us adults on our toes as well as the occasional help from Jantsen.

The tabernacle is a fun place to take our visitors because it usually doesn't get as much attention recognition because of Winter Quarters being so close. But I am so grateful to be living in the mid-west to learn about all these important and valuable stopping points for the saints. The Kanesville tabernacle was the first tabernacle ever built, taking only 18 days to build. It was also the place where the prophet Brigham Young was sustained, in which about 1000 saints squished into this small room. And I thought my parent's ward building was crammed. I am grateful for the things we have and especially for the unconditional faithfulness and dedication of the early saints!

We are now busy watching the Utah game, well I guess the girls are sleeping, Jantsen is playing, I am blogging and Jeremy, Kristen and Kyle are watching the game. So... things are exciting!!

Oh and yesterday, before the Kristen and Jeremy arrived, Jantsen got a surprise from Joel and Maranda. I think Jantsen was in heaven, especially considering that everytime he sees a motorcycle or scooter he immediately and ALWAYS says "Mom when I get big, I am going to buy a motorcycle because they are my favorite." Of course and my immediate response is "No Way, Not Ever, Don't even think about it!" Anyways, this kid does love motorcycles even more than trains and trucks right now. I wanted to actually do a motorcycle theme for his 4th birthday. So it was fun to see the excitement on his little face and how much his eyes were beaming when Joel and him took off on a ride.

One other thing, when they came back from their cruise around the Green, Jantsen got off, walked right over to Kyle and whispered (I think because he was embarrassed and didn't to hear Joel possibly say no), "Dad, can I go on one more ride right now?" Now if I can just get him back into liking Thomas the Train and running (the safer side of being a kid...haha) my worry problems would be diminished alittle bit. Thanks Joel and Maranda for enticing my son's dreams of one day owning those deadly things!
