19 months and still not sleeping through the night...

Okay so not really. But that is what we were feeling last night. Kambryn decided that at 3:00 AM she wanted to wake up, still EXTREMELY tired!! She was so uncomfortable and tired at first and made sure that everyone in the state of Nebraska new it too. Finally around 4:30 she decided she wanted to run around the house and play. She is crazy, I know! Kyle and I took turns entertaining...okay so I wouldn't really say that is what we were doing, more like putting up with her moonlighting while trying to stay coherent! Run, laugh, run, whine, run, hug, run, fall down, over and over again....ahh ahh ahh! Finally(!!) she started wearing down and fell asleep around 5:45 of course only after throwing a lovely tantrum on the floor complete with rolling, head banging, feet kicking and fake crying. I was so nervous to move her and wake her up only to have to start the last 3 hours over, so I left her there for about 30 minutes. (She had a blanket so no worries about her being cold.) It was like a roller coaster of a night; up and down, happy and sad, crying and laughing...the whole works!

And unfortunately it didn't stop there, she was up at about 7:00am ready for another round of tantrums, eating waffles, and now she is content with scattering my wallet and purse items all over the house while I sit at the computer in this zombie, eyes-glazed-over state that I am in. All the feelings of wanting another baby and all that being baby hungry mumbo-jumbo, I can assure everyone they are totally thrown out the window for the time being!! ha!

Boy can I understand. I can count on one hand the number of times Natalie has gone to bed at bedtime and slept through till morning. My kids dont do it till they're like 3!

I just keep thinking of those people that kept telling me they were so happy to get out of the baby stage and it got easier after they turned a year! WHATEVER! I think having an infant was the easiest thing in the world next to having a toddler! Eme had a nice tantrum this morning that left her with a nice bump on her head. But she did sleep through the night. Thank goodness!

Gosh! If you hadn't posted such adorable pics of Kambryn, your story would be a lot more believeable! She is so freakin' cute! Well I am sad about our workouts but I will let you start kicking my butt again in January!

That picture of her is cute--I need to use more bows for my Ashtyn, make her look like a girl or something.
Soooo I totally thought about contacting you since we were in Omaha, but I didn't know how it'd work out since it was our first time trying to time the babysitting and temple going and all that. For sure next time though. :) You would seriously watch the kids? You'd have your two plus a 15 month old and a 13 month old--sounds like insanity to me!!! Plus Ashtyn is people-phobic. I don't know if she could handle it--or you--it's likely she'd be very unhappy the whole time. Of course with her cousin David there, and some books, and her teddy.... Next time we go at the very least we should hang out and do lunch or dinner or something!

oh man, sounds like a horrible night. It is a good thing that we love our kids so much and are able to put up with things like this, huh?

That sounds like my night every night with Jack, yes, he is still not sleeping through the night. We had an especially bad one last night, granted he is sick. Oh well. That first picture of you and Kambryn is SOOOOOO CUTE! I love it! I love you!!

Their cuteness keeps them alive. That is the deal in my house anyway. You are baby hungry?! Geez!

Those night drive me crazy!! Jace goes through phases of that every once in a while. I hope for you it was just a random night of craziness.

Ok I am laughing over Dana's "so close to Halloween" comment.. Yeah I feel your pain. Jaxson has just barely started sleeping all the way through the night (knock on wood) but I am expecting more nights like yours to come. There's nothing like a night of no sleep to banish those baby hungry thoughts. (not like I'm having any of those yet, I'm not that crazy!)

Ahh Toddler hood. We are getting to the stage where you are. Ethan has an attitude and he wants everyone to know that he is upset, or that he didn't get what he needed. Adorable pictures and I agree with meghan, cuteness is the only thing that keeps them alive at 3 in the AM. I love you, you are doing an awesome job! Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!!

Janel I am so excited! Dylan is going to be so happy when I tell him. Although it will probably make him sad when we have to leave. I can't wait to get those two together!

I am reading your blog and thinking I could post the exact same thing... Our bedtime routine has completely gone out the window and I do anything just to get my little Tyler to sleep! Hope you have better luck than I have had lately:)
