Today it has been raining ALL day long. I feel like I am in Forks, Washington. (or else I only wish...) But no, seriously it has been a constant rain, not even a slight sprinkle, since before 5:30 this morning. That is the time I woke up to go running but it was raining. It isn't one of those rainy days that you feel like curling up in your pajamas with a blanket and drinking some hot chocolate. No, it is a gloomy and grey and BLAH day. So I had to venture out of the house with the kids in order to keep me from eating sugar and fattening foods as a pick-me-upper. We went over to the mall so the kids could eat lunch (chicken nuggets and Apple slices) and play at the little indoor playground to burn some energy. While we were there, Jantsen noticed a big "white thing" at the end of one of the mall corridors and he wanted to go take a look. And what do you think we came upon, but only of course..."It is Christmas", at least that is what Jantsen yelled when he went running up to Frosty the Snowman. Then he followed it up by saying, "and now Santa is coming to bring me presents." Kambryn just ran right up to the fence with her mouth right open, saying "Wooowww" and clapping her hands. Unfortunately Santa was "out feeding his reindeer" and "at his workshop making Jantsen's and Kambryn's toys". That was the only way I could pull Jantsen away from the display. He didn't understand why we couldn't just wait there until Santa would come back so he could see him. We will see how excited he is when we actually do take him to sit on Santa's lap. It should be exciting!
Well, we are getting excited for the holidays that are in the near future but yet I can't believe that Santa's workshop-throne-display-thing is already set up. Do the mall people not realize the hardship they are causing parents who have to explain to their kids each time they are at the mall that Santa "is still feeding his reindeer" or worse, "he is making more presents". But truthfully, the kid in me was so excited to see the display and share in the excitement that this holiday brings. I am of course excited to celebrate Thanksgiving and then bring on the Christmas Festivities!!
Jantsen is now old enough that he is pulling faces in pictures, just for the heck of it. And also look at that pure excitement in Kambryn's face. That is how I feel when I see Christmas decorations too!!

I love Kambryn's face in that last one!
How cute! I feel the same way about Christmas. Bring it on! There is this Christmas Gift Show going on this weekend that I totally want to go to just because it will be the offical first Christmas thing we do. And then the next day we will head for St. George and 70 degree weather! Best of both worlds!
The weather here is the worst! We went to the museum today to do the same thing you did...not eat and not drive eachother insane! Thank goodness the people at the museum are smarter than the mall people...no Santa stuff! But I do get excited when I see the decorations as well....I love Christmas!
yahooo Santa!!!! Yahoooo Forks!!!!! Yahooooooooooooo EEEDDDWWWAARRRRDDDDD!!!!!
Funny thing. We did the same thing today to escape our rainy weather. Gotta love those mall playplaces.
