Bodie's First Week

I did a recap of Talan's first week after he was born and I love looking back at it. I only wish I had this blog when my other kids' were born.
But here is the look back at Bodie's first week! We are so blessed to have him in our family!
Day 1: Wednesday
10-26-11
-Scheduled to be induced at 10am but started having contractions at midnight the night before.
-checked into the hospital at 2:00am, epidural at 3:30, finally break my water at 7:45am, threw up (yuck), Bodie wouldn't drop at all, finally at 9:45am ready to push, pushed for 35 minutes (awful!! and felt like a rookie having a baby), finally born at 10:18am...crying lots and completely healthy!!
-Worse labor and delivery out of all 4 of my kids...but completely relieved and blessed to have him here and healthy!
-Didn't like the Dr. that delivered him. Wanted to kick her in the head.
-Big chunky kid- whopping 8lbs 10oz.
-Tons of hair
-Talan's identical twin, just born 21 months apart from each other.
-Happy and Exhausted Mom! LONG day for me!
-Grateful Dad! Love seeing Kyle holding his new little baby boy. So sweet!
-Proud older brother Jantsen
-Ready to play "Mom" Kambryn
-Not too interested or jealous or anything from Talan (but ready to leave the hospital.)
Kept saying "c'mon dad"and wanting to leave.
-Happy family of 6!

Day 2: Thursday
10-27-11
-Great night sleep for Mom and Bodie
-Eating like a champ
-I feel 100% better than the day before
-Halloween party for the rest of the family
-Thankful for friends that have helped watch my other 3 kids!
-Loved the quiet times at the hospital with just me, Kyle and Bodie
-Such a Beautiful Baby!

Day 3: Friday
10-28-11

-Going Home Day
-Bodie peed on first outfit he was wearing
-Got to wear his Halloween onsie home from hospital
-Hates wearing the Frankenstein hat...but it was so cute!
-Weight is 8lbs 2oz
-Going home with some jaundice. Watching it over the weekend.
-Having a new baby and lack of parental attention was hard on the older 3
-Jantsen, Kambryn, and Talan ready for some sort of schedule and normal routine
-Happy to be home!

Day 4: Saturday
10-29-11
-Kambryn decided to carry him from her room down to the toy room today.
(all by herself, without me knowing. and down 2 flights of stairs)
-Being smothered by siblings! They love him!
-Talan calls him "Baby Bodie"
-Amazing sleeper! Only one feeding during the night! So GREAT!
-Jaundice is getting a little worse. Yellow in the eyes and face.

Day 5: Sunday
10-30-11

-No church for mom, Bodie, and Talan
-Thankful for friends in the ward that are so helpful
-Bodie is still pretty yellow but not as bad as Saturday
-Spends lots of time in the sunlight.

Day 6: Monday
10-31-11
-HALLOWEEN
-Kyle went to work this day, no school for other kids (fall break)
-Successful day with 4 kids at home by myself
-Doctor appointment for Bodie to check bilirubin levels (Kyle got home in time for me to go to the Dr.)
-Levels were fine, just still keeping him in the sunlight. He hated getting his blood drawn.
-Weight 8lbs 6oz (milk does the body good)
-While kids were trick or treating I waited in the car with Bodie, fed him, changed his diaper, got pooped on, smelled awful, got home and ate candy.
-Fun day as a family

Day 7: Tuesday
11-1-11

-Beautiful Day in KC
-Lots of time spent with siblings
-Kyle didn't go to work today
-Back to school for Jantsen and Kambryn
-Kite flying after school. Turned into an adventure
-Sunbathing for Bodie on the porch with me
-Grocery Shopping
(Crazy shopping with 4 kids...we needed to big Costco carts. One just for the kids to ride in. Jantsen pushed that one for us. So nice having a seven year old)

Day 8: Wednesday
11-2-11

-One Week Old
-Bodie's first bath. Jantsen and Kambryn were very helpful
-Curly hair when wet, just like Talan. Not as Hairy as Talan was
-We feel so blessed and grateful to be a family
-We love our little Bodster, Bo Bo, Baby Bodie

Love all the pictures! Can't believe Kambryn carried him all that way by herself! I would have freaked! Eme can't wait to see Baby Bodie and have Talan come have a sleepover with us! Tayden is excited to have someone to play with that doesn't order him around! They can dance to silly shows all day long!

This post was so nice to see. Bodie looks like a little Indian baby. We should tie him to one of those boards so you can carry him on your back! You would fit right in with Grandma Walser's side of the family! :) Can't wait to see you guys. You are such a beautiful mama. I hope to look half as good as you do when I have four babies!

How awesome! My kids are 14 months apart then 21 months apart. They are best friends. It is so nice (for them) to be so close. I sometimes wonder if we will get our 4th or not. Three may have to be enough. Congrats!
